What is Value-Based Health?

With the total cost of healthcare in the U.S. growing past 20% of the entire economy, and with overall American patient health near the bottom when compared to other countries, the continuing high cost combined with low health outcomes is unsustainable.

After years of study, and in consultation with the healthcare industry, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has decided to introduce a completely new healthcare delivery model called “Value-Based Health”.

This new approach to providing healthcare services, and reimbursement for those services, applies to all Federal government healthcare programs (such as Medicare), State programs (such as Medicaid), and is being adopted by all Commercial Health Insurance companies.

Physicians, Hospitals, Clinics, Nursing Homes and all other medical professionals and organizations will be affected by the requirements of Value-Based Health.  To ensure adoption of, and adherence to, these healthcare improvement goals, payments for services provided will be substantially reduced, or significantly increased, based on achieving better patient outcomes while reducing delivery costs.

Sui Generis Health provides an extensive range of programs, products, services and systems that help our clients successfully work through the transition from Fee-Based Reimbursement to Value-Based Health.
